To navigate today's job market successfully, you need to have at least five things:
1. First, you must have a good understanding of how today's job market works, compared with even five years ago.
2. You must have a resume that captures and keeps the attention of decision makers.
3. You must have a very robust online profile, including your LinkedIn profile and an online resume.
4. You must know how to get to all eight segments of the job market, for both published and unpublished jobs.
5. Your networking efforts have to capture the right people that know about your target positions.
