What advantages do you NOT want to utilize in searching for your next executive position? That's silly; this is an "All of the Above" exercise.
In 2020, LinkedIn has now overtaken resumes as the #1 way Employers and Recruiters learn about their candidates... does your profile sell you the way you want to be seen?
Most executives these days have a LinkedIn presence, but from what we've seen, most of them are skeleton frameworks that took very little time or effort to put together. If yours looks neglected, it puts you at a tremendous disadvantage searching for your next executive position, whether you're doing it passively or actively engaged in daily searching activities.

Background Image
Don't underestimate the influence of background images. LinkedIn's own published data says that LinkedIn users' eyes spend 16% of their time looking at the pictures on a LinkedIn profile.
What's more important, is that a distinctive background image makes your profile more memorable and can elevate your status in a stranger's eyes before they ever meet you.
A picture can convey that you are: "a Thought Leader", "No-Frills", "a Rainmaker", "Process-Oriented", "Global", "a Big-Picture Thinker", "Collaborative," etc.---without saying a word.
Your background image is some of the most valuable and attention-grabbing real estate on your LinkedIn profile--Don't let it go to waste!
Do not use a sunset photo--especially if you are over 50. Psychologically speaking, sunsets signify the end of the day, end of the road, end of your career, etc.
Also, stay away from images focusing on recreation (beaches, golf courses, etc.)
Choose an image that speaks to how you think, how you work or a positive aspect of your personality that can't be turned off.
At CRC, we recommend that you google "LinkedIn Background" and select "Images". You will find hundreds of LinkedIn profile background images categorized by topic, color, and genres.
